Enjoy South Dakota Acoustic Christmas Concerts - For a Good Cause

Attending the annual South Dakota Acoustic Christmas concerts has become a holiday tradition in Sioux Falls.

And that's especially true for supporters of DakotAbilities. Funds raised from concert sponsorships benefit this nonprofit organization that serves people with disabilities.

"People can help our organization while enjoying a fabulous holiday concert," said Robin Prunty of DakotAbilities. "We call it multi-tasking!"

"This year's concert features Chris Gage and Christine Albert from Austin, Texas, as guest performers," Prunty added. "Chris Gage is well known in Sioux Falls, as he was part of the old Red Willow Band, and Christine Albert is an extraordinary vocalist. The last time they performed here, they brought the house down."

Acoustic Christmas Concerts this year will be held December 15 through 18 at the Washington Pavilion Great Hall.

"The money we raise from sponsorships will again help fund our Alternative Services Program," Prunty explained. "This program serves nearly 50 people. Many activities are one-on-one and take place in the community. It's a great quality-of-life program for people who are not able to participate in a structured vocational program."

"We create an environment where people with disabilities can reach their highest potential," says Prunty. "And we're striving to make our community one in which all people are valued for their individual contributions and talents."
